We Love Bikes

We love Motorbikes! In fact, it was the first product Star Insure launched many years ago. Now that summer is here, more people will be considering buying or upgrading their motorbike to enjoy a cruise around our beautiful country. This makes it a good time to remind you that we insure all kinds of bikes here at Star.

Are you part of the cool club?
… or any registered motorbike club actually! We have a ‘Club Rider’ policy specially designed for riders who are members of motorbike clubs. This policy offers Agreed Value and higher extension limits. It’s a good question to ask when you’re gathering details of your client’s risk.

Mum & Dad are buying me a bike for Christmas.
Every rider needs to start somewhere, so we’re happy to provide terms for most young and new bike riders. Bikes need to be learner-approved (LAMS) for those on a learner or restricted licence. If your client completes a Ride Forever Course to learn bike handling skills, we’ll give them an even better deal.

I’ve won Lotto and now I’m expanding my bike collection from 2 to 20!
We love bike collections, but you can only ride one at a time. Many people (whether they win Lotto or not) build up collections of bikes and we support this with an insurance package that recognises only one bike is likely to be on the road at any one time.

I beat the terrible Auckland traffic by riding my bike to work.
It’s not uncommon for clients to use their bikes for regular commuting; we understand it can be their main form of transport. Our Freedom motorbike policies now include Loss of Use cover, so in the unfortunate event of a claim, the client
can hire a substitute bike. All our comprehensive motorbike policies include roadside assistance, which is very handy if you break down on the way to work.

I like to escape the ordinary by getting off the road or on the track.
Star Insure is happy to insure off-road bikes, trail bikes, farm bikes, Can-Ams, and three-wheelers. Our policy includes cover anywhere in NZ, including while in transit. Riders also love to use their bikes on the track. Star can extend the policy coverage for professionally run track events and rider training.
