Woohoo! Star Insure is the first insurance provider in New Zealand to offer Afterpay. No other insurer, insurance broker or insurance provider has the option. It’s another way we’re committed to doing things differently and making sure our customers have an out-of-the-ordinary experience with us.

What is Afterpay?
Afterpay is a payment option that lets you pay in four equal interest-free instalments spread over six weeks. Afterpay is widely accepted online and in stores around New Zealand and overseas. And now, it’s available for Star Insure customers.

How does it work?
Afterpay pays Star Insure in full and upfront on your behalf. You pay the first instalment of 25% at the time of purchase or payment, and the remaining instalments are automatically deducted from your nominated debit or credit card over the following six weeks.

How can I use it?
At Star Insure, Afterpay can be used to pay for;
- Your annual and monthly insurance premium- An at fault claim excess
- A winning bid on a Star Insure insurance salvage auction

Where do I start?
Setting up an account is easy and anyone over 18 can do it. Simply download the app or head to the Afterpay website and set up an account in less than five minutes with Afterpay’s instant approval decision. You can also access the Afterpay website for sign up during the payment process on the Star Insure website.

What do I need to know?
You’ll need to have an Afterpay account. If you haven’t used Afterpay before and you’d like to as part of the payment process on our website, you’ll be taken through the sign up process with Afterpay.

 All payments are subject to the Afterpay payment value limitation applicable to your individual Afterpay account.
