But our commitment goes further than protecting your prized possessions; it extends to protecting people behind the wheel. That's why we're proud to announce an important new collaboration with Street Smart; a leading programme that teaches young drivers life-saving, road safety skills. 

This collaboration is more than a partnership; it's an investment in the lives of our young people and an investment in the safety of everyone using our country’s roads.

Street Smart is a nationwide charitable programme dedicated to teaching safety skills that go beyond standard learner training. Relaunched by the Tony Quinn Foundation, their practical, hands-on approach is all about sharpening decision-making, boosting hazard perception, and generally making our young drivers super aware on the roads. 

Since 2021, 359 young drivers have lost their lives on NZ roads.

These figures are simply unacceptable, and devastating for the family, friends and communities of the young people involved. Street Smart wants to help young people embrace responsible road behaviour for life. As a not-for-profit trust, Street Smart relies on external funding to deliver its life-saving programme, and we at Star Insure are absolutely thrilled to be a major partner.

The Street Smart programme has been relaunched by the Tony Quinn Foundation, delivers practical, hands-on driver training that goes beyond the standard learner curriculum.
