Competition Terms and Conditions
Enthusiast Vehicle Photo Competition 2025
Entry into the Star Insure Enthusiast Vehicle Photo Competition ("the Competition") is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
1. Promoter: The Promoter is Star Insure, with its registered office at 2 Reg Savory Place, East Tamaki, Auckland.
2. Competition Period: a. The Competition commences at 9:00 AM NZST on Wednesday, 6th August 2025 and closes at 11:59 PM NZST on Monday, 22nd September 2025 ("Competition Period"). b. No entries will be accepted outside of the Competition Period.
3. Eligibility: a. Entry is open to all Star Insure customers with a current classic or enthusiast car policy. b. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, its associated companies, and any agencies associated with this Competition are ineligible to enter. c. Entrants must be the legal owner of the vehicle depicted in the photograph submitted.
4. How to Enter: a. To enter, participants must email one (1) photograph of their vehicle to [email protected] . b. The email subject line must be: "Enthusiast Vehicle Photo Competition Entry". c. Only one entry is permitted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
5. Entry Requirements & Content: a. The photograph must be submitted in a digital format (e.g., JPEG, PNG) and should be in a landscape orientation. High-resolution images are required for printing, around 3508 pixels wide by 2480 pixels high at 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch). This is the standard for most print materials, ensuring sharp and clear images.. b. The photograph must be the entrant's own original work and must not infringe on the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party. c. The photograph must not contain any people. d. If any other vehicles are clearly identifiable in the photograph, the entrant warrants that they have obtained permission from the owners of those vehicles to be included in the submission. e. The photograph must not contain any defamatory, offensive, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate content. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry it deems to be in breach of this condition.
6. Judging and Winner Selection: a. This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. b. All valid entries will be judged by a panel selected by the Promoter based on creativity, photographic quality, and suitability for the Star Insure Calendar theme. c. A total of twelve (12) winning entries will be selected. d. The judges' decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. The Prize: a. Each of the twelve (12) winners will receive: i. One (1) $200 NZD fuel voucher. ii. One (1) complimentary copy of the 2026 Star Insure Calendar featuring their photograph. b. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
8. Winner Notification: a. The winners will be notified via the email address used for entry on or by Friday, 26th September 2025. b. Winners must respond to the notification email to claim their prize within five (5) working days. c. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within this period, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and select a new winner from the pool of valid entries.
9. Image Rights and Intellectual Property: a. By entering the Competition, each entrant retains copyright in their submitted photograph. b. However, each entrant grants the Promoter (Star Insure and its related entities) a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt, communicate, and display the photograph for an unlimited period in any media, for purposes connected with the Competition and for future marketing and promotional purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use in: i. The 2026 Star Insure Calendar. ii. Star Insure's marketing and promotional materials. iii. Star Insure's social media channels (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) and websites. c. The entrant agrees that the Promoter may credit them by name as the photographer but that failure to do so will not constitute a breach of these terms.
10. Privacy: a. The Promoter will collect entrants' personal information (name, email address, photograph) in order to conduct the Competition. b. By entering, the entrant consents to the storage of their personal information on the Promoter's database and to the Promoter using this information for the purposes outlined in Clause 9, and as detailed in Star Insure's Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at starinsure.co.nz/privacy-policy.
11. General Conditions: a. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. b. The Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) as a result of entering the Competition or accepting a prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. c. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.
